We originally planned a provisional route which took us from Namibia, down through South Africa and up the east coast of Africa, travelling through Mozambique, Tanzania, Uganda, Kenya then back down through Tanzania again, Malawi, Zambia and Botswana before finally bringing us back to Namibia next summer.
Due to the Rovuma river ferry sinking and the Umjoma bridge not yet being completed we had to abandon crossing from Mozambique to Tanzania and back-tracked to Malawi instead.
We then (rather carelessly) found ourselves a job for a year.
After a visit back home in February 2010 we resumed our trip travelling south; dividing our time between Botswana,Namibia, South Africa and Zambia.
We returned to the UK for Christmas 2010, flying back to Zambia at the end of January 2011. From here we headed north up the east coast and into Jordan and then Israel. We shipped the car from Israel to Salerno, Italy and drove back to the UK from Italy.
